Help L.S. King curate her MFA thesis exhibition.

L.S. King is grateful for the unexpected honor of receiving the Appalachian Center for Photography's Outstanding Photograph Award for her photopolymer gravure in the Art Appalachia: 2020 exhibition at the Floyd Center for the Arts.

These three pieces are part of a much larger body of work in progress called “Post Cards from the Pandemic: A Pulaski Memoir.” I will post more (probably a lot more) about this throughout the next year. But the quick and dirty description is that the work is postcard-sized photopolymer gravures. A postcard-back label accompanies each one. Between the picture sand the words, they chronicle life in Appalachia during the COVID-19 era, but will also tell a story.

After 10 years of entering the William King Museum of Arts’ “From These Hills” exhibition and facing rejection, this time is different.
